Nicola is currently Acute Care and Leadership Adviser at RCN Wales, where she advises on all aspects of Acute Care and oversees the RCN Clinical Leadership Programme in Wales.
Prior to this Nicola was a Consultant Nurse for Stroke in Aneurin Bevan Health Board which was the first of its kind. The Role of the Consultant nurse is unique because of the broad area it spans. The main domains of the role providing; – Expert practice, Leadership, Education also Research and Service Development. Whilst at this role Nicola set up the All Wales Stroke Nurse Specialist Group and developed many local service improvement initiatives and held a Honorary Lecturer post at Swansea University linking in with OPAN and the Stroke Research Unit.
