Chee Yeen became a Trustee of the Self Care Forum in 2020. She is a London-based GP, founder of the “Dr. Me Project” and recipient of the RCGP GP Speciality Trainee Award 2019 and ASME New Leaders Award 2020.
Chee Yeen has always had a keen interest in medical education. Throughout GP training, Chee Yeen gained education and leadership experience through her work as Chair of the South London GP Trainee Committee and as a Clinical Education Fellow at Imperial College School of Medicine. In 2019, Chee Yeen was appointed as a National Medical Director’s Clinical Fellow at Health Education England. In this role she worked on national widening participation, undergraduate leadership and quality assurance projects. Due to COVID-19, Chee Yeen was seconded to NHS England to be part of the National COVID-19 Strategic Response team.
In 2015, Chee Yeen founded the “Dr. Me Project”, a voluntary health promotion and widening participation programme which educates children to appropriately self care at home and responsible use of NHS resources. She has trained over 50 doctors and medical students, and taught over 250 school children about self care, on a completely free and unfunded basis. Chee Yeen has presented her work at national and international conferences.
