Following a number of years working in corporate pharmacy, Michael established his own community pharmacy group in 1988.
In 2005 Michael became the Chief Officer of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Local Pharmaceutical Committee where many innovations in pharmacy services began, including the Healthy Living Pharmacy initiative. He was appointed as the Chief Executive of the UK’s National Pharmacy Association in 2011.
In 2016, he co-founded Pharmacy Complete, a training and consultancy organisation working with community pharmacy, the pharmaceutical industry, and health and public health organisations.
Michael was honoured as a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society in March 2011 and became a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health in 2017.
