Experiencing bereavements in 2020, I took a year from college to realign through self-care practices such as counselling, exercise, and journaling. Returning to college and succeeding in studies, I wanted a meaningful career helping others. I had never considered university; nevertheless in 2022 I begun. Seemingly others had adopted a balanced lifestyle so in my second year, I began the Lifestyle & Wellness Society- to connect a likeminded student community. A staff member nominated me to go for an officer position. Discovering the Wellbeing Officer, my intuition knew it was for me. I ran a successful campaign and have been in the elected role since July 2024. My latest campaign the ‘Student Self-Care Movement’ was a part of National Self-Care Week. After my sabbatical, I have one year left of study. I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
